Virtuagym Alternatives (2026): What to Switch To, and How to Leave

Virtuagym does a lot — gym software, a coaching app and a branded app — but it won't show a price before the demo, and its reviews keep returning to annual contracts and bugs. Here are the alternatives for each reason gyms leave, with every price read from the vendor's own page this month, one Dubai gym priced through all of them, and a checklist for moving across.

By Pranat Sharma

Virtuagym does a lot. It's gym software, a coaching app for workouts and nutrition, and a branded app, all from one vendor. Gyms that look for Virtuagym alternatives tend to name the same three problems: they can't see a price until after the demo, the contract renews for another year before they notice, and bugs keep needing support tickets. If that's you, ManageYourGym is the alternative we'd point you to. Every price is on the page ($79, $169 or $349 a month), you can cancel anytime, workout programs and a member app under your gym's own name are on every plan, and we move your data for you.

Below are six more Virtuagym alternatives, grouped by the reason you're leaving: Arbox, GymMaster, Mindbody, PushPress, TeamUp and WellnessLiving. Every price was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 14 October 2026. After that, one Dubai gym is priced on each platform, and there's a checklist for moving your members, contracts and programs across.

What does Virtuagym cost in 2026?

Virtuagym doesn't publish a price any more. We checked its prices page on 14 October 2026. There are no plans and no numbers on it, just a form to "request your 25 min demo and pricing".

You'll still find per-location figures for Virtuagym on older blogs and directory sites. They come from an older version of its pricing page, so we haven't used them. If you're on Virtuagym today, pull your last three invoices and add up the subscription, the branded app, any coaching or video add-ons and payment fees. That total is what you're comparing against.

What Virtuagym customers say

Capterra has Virtuagym at 3.8 out of 5 from about 264 reviews. Capterra's own summary of those reviews is blunt. Of the 40 reviews that mention technical problems, 98% are negative. Of the 24 that mention cancelling a contract, 96% are negative. Trustpilot shows 3.9 from 215 reviews, but Virtuagym also has a consumer fitness app, so that page mixes gym owners with people tracking their own workouts.

The complaints from gym owners repeat the same few things:

  • Contracts that run 12 months and renew for another 12 unless you give notice in time. One gym owner on Trustpilot said cancellation was refused until the end of the term. A complaint posted on the site of Spain's consumer group OCU describes the same thing: a 12-month term that renewed automatically unless cancelled a month before the end.
  • Being moved to a pricier tier based on total client count. That same owner said inactive members counted toward it, and that it happened without notice.
  • Bugs that keep coming back, and an interface some owners find slow and dated.
  • Support that bottlenecks. A September 2026 Trustpilot review called it understaffed; Virtuagym replied that it usually answers within a business day.

Plenty of gyms run happily on Virtuagym, especially ones that sell coaching as much as gym access. But if you're reading this, something on that list has probably happened to you. The rest of this post is organised around price, the contract, coaching and the gym floor.

If you want a price you can see

Several platforms publish their prices. Look past the headline number at what the price counts, because that decides when you move up a tier. Then check where the member app under your own name sits, because that's where the prices swing most.

Read from each vendor's pricing page on 14 Oct 2026 (TeamUp's full ladder on 12 Oct), monthly billing. Annual rates where shown: GymMaster 10% off; Arbox $39/$99/$239; WellnessLiving $62/$179/$314. WellnessLiving is showing 80% off Business and BusinessPro until 16 Oct, so we've used its regular prices. PushPress's free plan charges 4.99% + $0.30 per card payment, against 2.89% + $0.30 on Pro. Card processing is extra on every platform.

What one gym pays on each

Take a gym in Dubai with one site, 350 members, five trainers selling PT and about 30 classes a week. Here's its monthly bill on each platform, first with a member app under its own name, then without one.

PlatformWith an own-name appWithout oneHow we got there
ManageYourGym$169 (about AED 621)$169Professional covers 500 members and 30 trainers; the app and workout programs are always included
PushPress$256$159Pro at $159, plus $97 for the app. The free plan's 4.99% card rate costs more than Pro at this size
GymMaster$279, plus $450 setup$129Advanced covers up to 400 members, plus $150 a month for the app
Arbox$299$12930 classes a week needs Standard; the app needs Professional
TeamUp$348$249Members renewing monthly all count as active, so 301–400 is $249, plus $99 for the app
WellnessLiving$349$199Five trainers rule out Starter; the app is included on BusinessPro
MindbodyQuoteFrom $99Starter has no branded app; Accelerate has no published price
VirtuagymQuoteQuoteNo published price

350 members is above our Starter limit of 150, so Professional is the fair comparison. AED at the fixed rate of 3.6725 to the dollar. Door access isn't included in any row.

With its own app, this gym pays less on ManageYourGym than on any platform that publishes a price. Without an app, it's a different story. Mindbody Starter starts from $99 a location, and GymMaster's and Arbox's $129 plans are $40 a month under our Professional plan. We'd rather you saw that here.

If the 12-month renewal caught you

Deal with this before anything else. Find your Virtuagym agreement and write down the start date, the term, the renewal date and the notice period. If the term renews for a full year, the last day to give notice can be a month or more before the renewal date. Put it in your calendar now, even if you're not sure you're leaving. Then send notice by email, keep the reply, and check your next two card statements.

When you choose the next platform, pick one whose terms are on its website rather than only in a contract. Here's what each one says publicly:

  • ManageYourGym: monthly or yearly, cancel anytime, no setup fee, and a 14-day trial with no card.
  • GymMaster: no lock-in contract, and a 60-day money-back guarantee.
  • TeamUp: month-to-month, no setup fee, cancel at any time without penalties.
  • Mindbody: no onboarding fee, but the contract depends on your plan, billing and any promotion, and cancelling may need notice before your next billing date.
  • Arbox, PushPress and WellnessLiving: prices on the page, but no contract length. Ask for it in writing.

If coaching is why you chose Virtuagym

This is Virtuagym's strongest ground, so be honest with yourself about how much of it you use. It sells workout and nutrition plans, progress tracking from wearables, heart-rate coaching, a library of workout videos and an AI coach, alongside the gym software.

If your trainers mainly write programs and meal plans, ManageYourGym covers that on every plan. There's a library of over 300 exercises, week-by-week program templates, and members log every set in the app, with personal bests recorded automatically. Trainers build and assign programs from their own app. Diet plans run on the same member record: a trainer builds each day's meals from a food search, and the member ticks them off in the app or takes a PDF with your gym's branding. Here's how workout programs work.

What we don't do: members don't log their own food and calories back to you, we don't read wearables or heart rate, and we don't have a video library. If any of those is half of what you sell, you should know it before you switch rather than after.

If you run personal training

Programs are the training half of PT. The money half is the package: what the client bought, how many sessions are left and who gets paid for them.

In ManageYourGym that's built in. You sell PT packages, clients book into the trainer's real availability from the app and the trainer confirms, with one calendar across the team. Every completed session comes off the balance. Trainers work from their own app with the day's sessions and classes, and you can pay them a salary, per-session or per-class rates, a share of package sales, or any mix.

If members let themselves in at 5am

Virtuagym sells a 24/7 access system. If your gym runs unstaffed hours, put this question first, whichever software you pick.

ManageYourGym checks members in with a QR code, on their phone or at a tablet by the entrance, so there's nothing to buy or wire up. An expired member is stopped at check-in, or let in on a grace period you set, and you can see how busy the floor is right now. We don't control doors or turnstiles. Among the others, GymMaster sells its own readers and charges $40 a month per site for 24/7 access, and TeamUp works with Kisi. Ask anyone else for the price in writing.

What each alternative is built around

  • Arbox: gyms and studios priced by sessions per week, with the branded app on its $299 plan. See Arbox alternatives.
  • GymMaster: gyms that want door hardware from their software vendor. Priced per site, with the branded app at $150 a month plus setup. See GymMaster alternatives.
  • ManageYourGym: gyms, studios, CrossFit boxes and PT businesses on one plan. QR check-in with no hardware, PT packages and trainer pay, workout programs and diet plans, classes with waitlists, live occupancy, and a member app under your own name on every tier. From $79 a month.
  • Mindbody: studios and gyms that want its consumer marketplace, which takes 20% of a new client's first purchase, capped at $30.
  • PushPress: CrossFit and functional gyms, unlimited members on every plan, and the branded app at $97 a month on top.
  • TeamUp: studios and gyms that like a bill that drops in quiet months. See TeamUp alternatives.
  • WellnessLiving: studios that want retail, video and marketing in one place. See WellnessLiving alternatives.

ManageYourGym — if you want one price and fewer surprises

We built ManageYourGym for gyms that sell memberships, PT, classes and coaching in one place. Members check in by QR, renewal reminders go out on WhatsApp before a plan ends, and late dues get chased for you. Freezes move the end date by the days frozen. See how it's set up for gyms.

Members book and pay in an app published under your gym's name and icon, on the App Store and Google Play. It's on every plan with no setup fee (here's how the branded app works). Cards go through Stripe or Nomod and settle to your own account. In the UAE, VAT-registered gyms get tax invoices in AED with their TRN. Every tier is on the pricing page: $79 for 150 members at one branch, $169 for 500 across three, $349 for unlimited.

Virtuagym does some things we don't, beyond the coaching extras above. It sells door access and a point-of-sale webshop, and it collects memberships by direct debit with automatic follow-up on failed payments. Our members pay each renewal in the app, prompted by reminders. For a staffed gym that came to Virtuagym for memberships, classes, programs and an app, those usually aren't what decides it.

We move everything for you: members, plans, balances and history. You can keep Virtuagym running alongside us until your notice period ends.

Leaving Virtuagym: a switching checklist

  • Find your agreement. Write down the term, the renewal date and the notice period, and put the last day to give notice in your calendar.
  • Export your member list, memberships, contracts and payment history while the account is fully live. Save copies somewhere outside Virtuagym.
  • Write down what the exports miss: frozen memberships and their return dates, credits on account, PT sessions left on each package and any discounts you've agreed.
  • Save each client's current workout program and meal plan, at least as a PDF or screenshot, so trainers can rebuild them on day one.
  • Decide what happens at the door before switch day. If you're moving to QR check-in, tell members when their old card or fob stops working, and send them the new app first.
  • If members pay by direct debit or saved card, those mandates usually can't move to a new system. Tell members before switch day that they'll pay their next renewal in the new app.
  • Send members the link to the new app a week before switch day, and again on the day.
  • Cancel the branded app, coaching or video add-ons and any hardware contract at the same time as the main plan.
  • Give notice in writing, keep the confirmation, and check your card statement for the next two months.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Virtuagym cost?

Virtuagym doesn't publish its prices. Its prices page (read 14 October 2026) is a demo request form with no plans or numbers. Per-location figures on older sites come from an earlier version of that page. Ask for a written quote that covers the subscription, the branded app, any coaching or video add-ons, payment fees and the contract term.

Can I cancel Virtuagym at any time?

Check your agreement. A gym owner on Trustpilot and a complaint on Spain's OCU consumer site both describe 12-month contracts that renewed automatically unless notice was given before the end, in one case a month ahead. Find your renewal date and notice period, and give notice in writing.

Is there a Virtuagym alternative with workout programs included?

Yes. ManageYourGym includes workout programs on every plan, with a 300-exercise library, templates, set-by-set logging in the member app and automatic personal bests. Trainers can also assign diet plans. Members don't log their own food back, and there's no wearable tracking or video library.

Is there a Virtuagym alternative with a branded app included?

Yes. ManageYourGym includes a member app under your gym's own name on every plan, from $79 a month. Elsewhere it's an add-on or a higher tier: PushPress ($97 a month), TeamUp ($99), GymMaster ($150 plus $450 setup), Arbox Professional ($299) and WellnessLiving BusinessPro ($349).

What does Virtuagym do that ManageYourGym doesn't?

It reads wearables and heart rate, has a workout video library, an AI coach and a nutrition app for members, sells 24/7 door access and a webshop, and collects memberships by direct debit. If those are central to your gym, weigh them before you switch.
