TeamUp is easy to set up and its support is well rated. Owners who look for TeamUp alternatives usually aren't leaving because it broke. They're leaving because the bill keeps growing in ways they didn't plan for. The price goes up with every client who books in a month, the app with your own name on it is $99 a month extra, and workout tracking for a CrossFit box is another $99. If that's you, ManageYourGym is the alternative we'd point you to. The app under your own name and the WOD are on every plan, the price is fixed by plan ($79, $169 or $349 a month), and we move your data for you.
Below are three more TeamUp alternatives, grouped by the reason you're leaving: Arbox, PushPress and WellnessLiving. Every price was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 12 October 2026. After that, one Dubai studio is priced on each platform, and there's a checklist for moving your clients and memberships across. If you only want the head-to-head, see ManageYourGym vs TeamUp.
What does TeamUp cost in 2026?
TeamUp charges by active customers. That's anyone who booked a class or bought something from you in the previous month. People on your list who didn't book don't count. The pricing page shows one price at a time behind a slider, so here's the whole ladder, read from that page on 12 October 2026:
| Active customers last month | USD a month | GBP a month |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 | $119 | £99 |
| 101–200 | $189 | £139 |
| 201–300 | $219 | £179 |
| 301–400 | $249 | £209 |
| 401–500 | $289 | £249 |
| 501 or more | $379 | £299 |
Add-ons: a custom branded app is $99 a month, and TeamUp Perform (the WOD, score logging and leaderboards) is another $99. There's no setup fee and no contract; you can cancel any month. Card payments go through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, and TeamUp says it takes no fee on top. No annual discount is listed.
There's a lot to like here. Every core feature is on every band, so a small studio gets the store, gift cards, waivers and pay rates from day one. The FAQ says one account can run as many locations as you like. And in a quiet month the price drops by itself.
The catch is the other direction. A good January can push you up a band in February, and you won't know your bill until the month is over. Then the add-ons stack on top. A 180-client studio that wants its own app pays $189 + $99 = $288 a month. If it's a CrossFit box that also wants the WOD in the app, that's $387.
What TeamUp customers say
The two big review sites tell very different stories. On Capterra, TeamUp sits at 4.8 out of 5 from about 346 reviews, with customer service rated 4.8, and reviewers often mention the easy setup. On Trustpilot it's 2.6 out of 5 from 68 reviews, but only five of those came in the last year, and a lot of the angry ones are from clients of studios, not owners. Here's what keeps coming up in the complaints:
- A new client app in early 2026 confused members, and some said booking confirmation emails didn't arrive.
- Owners who sent feedback felt it was heard but not acted on.
- Cost. "Expensive" comes up, usually once the app and other add-ons are on the bill.
- One long-time user feels the product slipped after DaySmart bought TeamUp in 2022.
None of that's a reason to leave on its own, and the Capterra score is excellent. The rest of this post is for owners whose bill has crept up, or who need something TeamUp sells as an extra.
If the add-ons are what pushed the bill up
Compare where each platform puts the app with your name on it, because that's where most of the difference is. Look at what the price counts, too.
| Platform | Published price (USD/mo, monthly) | What it counts | Own-name member app |
|---|---|---|---|
| ManageYourGym | Starter $79, Professional $169, Enterprise $349 | Members (150 / 500 / unlimited), plus branches and trainers | Included on every plan |
| TeamUp | $119 to $379 | Clients who booked or bought last month | $99/mo add-on |
| Arbox | Free, Basic $49, Standard $129, Professional $299 | Sessions per week (5 / 20 / unlimited) | Professional only |
| PushPress | Free $0, Pro $159, Max $229 | Features; unlimited members and staff | $97/mo add-on |
| WellnessLiving | Starter $69, Business $199, BusinessPro $349 | Staff, locations and features | Included on BusinessPro |
Read from each vendor's pricing page on 12 Oct 2026, monthly billing. Annual rates where shown: Arbox $39/$99/$239; WellnessLiving $62/$179/$314. WellnessLiving's 80%-off offer ends 16 October, so we've used its normal prices. PushPress's free plan charges 4.99% + $0.30 per card payment, against 2.89% + $0.30 on Pro. Card processing is extra on every platform.
What one studio pays on each
Prices only mean something when you put a real studio through them. Take a studio in Dubai with one location, four coaches, about 180 members who book every month and 40 classes a week. Here's its monthly bill on each platform, first with a booking app under its own name, then without one.
| Platform | With an own-name app | Without one | How we got there |
|---|---|---|---|
| ManageYourGym | $169 (about AED 621) | $169 | Professional covers 500 members and 30 trainers; the app is always included |
| PushPress | $256 | $159 | Pro at $159, plus $97 for the app |
| TeamUp | $288 | $189 | $189 for 101–200 active customers, plus $99 for the app |
| Arbox | $299 | $129 | 40 classes a week needs Standard; the app needs Professional |
| WellnessLiving | $349 | $199 | Four coaches rule out Starter; the app is included on BusinessPro |
180 members is above our Starter limit of 150, so Professional is the fair comparison. A studio under 150 pays $79 with us, app included. AED at the fixed rate of 3.6725 to the dollar.
With its own app, this studio pays $119 a month less on ManageYourGym than on TeamUp. That's about $1,430 a year. Without an app, Arbox Standard at $129 is the cheapest paid plan in this table, and TeamUp's $189 is $20 more than our Professional plan.
If the studio grows to 250 clients booking each month, TeamUp moves to $219, or $318 with the app. Our price stays at $169 until you pass 500 members.
If you never know what next month will cost
Paying by active customers sounds fair, and in a slow summer it is. The trouble is planning. Your software bill follows your busiest month with a one-month delay, so a big intro offer or a New Year rush lands on the next invoice. Studios with lots of drop-ins and one-off buyers feel it most, because a single class pass makes someone active for the month.
ManageYourGym counts members on a fixed plan: 150 on Starter, 500 on Professional, unlimited on Enterprise. Run a busy January and your bill doesn't move. Arbox counts sessions, and PushPress and WellnessLiving count features and staff, so their bills only change when you change plans too.
If you run CrossFit and want the WOD in the app
TeamUp does have a proper WOD product. TeamUp Perform lets coaches build daily sessions from a CrossFit library, hide them until a set time, and let members log scores and follow a leaderboard. It's a separate $99 a month on top of the plan, whether or not you also buy the branded app.
In ManageYourGym it's part of every plan. Coaches post the WOD with RX and Scaled versions from the coach app or the dashboard, and athletes log their scores in your box's own app. Leaderboards and personal records build up from there. For a 180-member box that wants both, it's $169 with us against $387 on TeamUp. Here's how it works for CrossFit boxes.
If you run reformer classes
TeamUp handles class capacity and waitlists well, and clients get told when a spot opens up. What its Pilates page doesn't mention is letting a client pick a specific reformer. Clients book a place in the class, not a machine.
ManageYourGym shows clients a map of the room and lets them pick their reformer when they book. Class packs expire after the number of days you set, and the credit comes back when someone cancels before your cutoff. See how it's set up for Pilates studios.
If you have several locations
This is where TeamUp is strong, and we'll say so. Its FAQ says one account covers an unlimited number of locations, and the pricing page has no per-location charge. Ask TeamUp in writing to confirm that every site is counted in one active-customer total before you rely on it.
On ManageYourGym, Professional covers up to three branches for $169 a month, with one dashboard and revenue for each location. Four or more branches need Enterprise at $349. So a chain with four or more sites and up to 500 active clients in total will likely pay less on TeamUp without an app ($289 or less against $349). With the $99 app it's still a little cheaper up to 400 active clients: $348 against our $349, app included.
What each alternative is built around
- ManageYourGym: studios, gyms, CrossFit boxes and PT businesses on one plan. Includes reformer spot booking, class packs, the WOD with scores and leaderboards, PT packages, trainer pay and a member app under your own name on every tier. From $79 a month.
- Arbox: gyms and studios, priced by how many sessions you run a week, with a free plan for a very small timetable and the branded app on its $299 plan. Our Arbox alternatives post prices it against the rest.
- PushPress: CrossFit and functional gyms. There's a free plan if you accept a higher card rate, Pro at $159, and the branded app is $97 a month on top.
- WellnessLiving: studios that want retail, video and an AI front desk in one place, priced by staff and features. See WellnessLiving alternatives.
ManageYourGym: if a fixed bill and your own app are what you want
We built ManageYourGym for gyms and studios that sell memberships, class packs and private sessions in one place. Classes have capacity limits and waitlists, and reformer studios can let clients pick a machine. Coaches get their own app with the day's classes and sessions, and you can pay them a salary, a rate per class or a share of what they sell. See how it's set up for boutique studios.
Clients book and pay in an app published under your studio's name and icon, on the App Store and Google Play. It's on every plan, not an add-on (here's how the branded app works). Cards go through Stripe or Nomod and settle to your own account, and renewal reminders go out on WhatsApp. In the UAE, VAT-registered studios get tax invoices in AED with their TRN. Every tier is on the pricing page: $79 for 150 members at one location, $169 for 500 across three, $349 for unlimited.
There are things TeamUp does that we don't. We don't sell products or gift cards, we don't charge saved cards or direct debits automatically at renewal, and we don't have waivers, family accounts, on-demand video, two-way calendar sync or door-lock hardware yet. If you depend on any of those, weigh that honestly. For a studio that came to TeamUp for booking, memberships and an app, it usually isn't the deciding factor.
We move everything for you: members, plans, balances and history. You can keep TeamUp running alongside us until you're sure.
Leaving TeamUp: a switching checklist
- TeamUp is month to month with no contract, so you can leave at the end of any billing month. Pick a date at the start of a month, not the week before a promotion.
- Export your customer list, memberships, packs and payment history while the account is fully live. Save copies somewhere outside TeamUp.
- Write down what the exports miss: classes left on each pack, paused memberships and their return dates, discount codes in use and any credit on account.
- Save your timetable, upcoming bookings and each instructor's pay rate.
- Download signed waivers and forms as files. You'll want them if there's ever an injury claim.
- If clients pay by GoCardless direct debit or saved card, those mandates usually can't move to a new system. Tell clients before switch day that they'll pay their next renewal in the new app.
- If you use the branded app or Perform, cancel those add-ons on the same day as the main plan.
- Cancel in writing, keep the confirmation, and check your card statement for the next two months.

Frequently asked questions
How much does TeamUp cost?
On 12 October 2026 its pricing page listed $119 a month for up to 100 active customers, $189 for 101–200, $219 for 201–300, $249 for 301–400, $289 for 401–500 and $379 for 501 or more. A branded app is $99 a month extra, and TeamUp Perform (WOD and scores) is another $99. There's no setup fee or contract.
What counts as an active customer on TeamUp?
Anyone who booked a class or bought something from your business in the previous month. Each person counts once, however often they came. Clients who did nothing that month don't count, so the bill goes down in quiet months and up after busy ones.
Does TeamUp include a branded app?
Not in the plan price. The custom branded app is a $99-a-month add-on on every band. ManageYourGym includes an app under your studio's own name on every plan, from $79.
Is there a cheaper alternative to TeamUp?
For most single-site studios, yes. A 180-client studio with its own app pays $288 a month on TeamUp and $169 on ManageYourGym. Under 150 members it's $79 with us against $119 or $189 on TeamUp before the app. TeamUp can come out cheaper for a chain of four or more sites with up to 500 active clients, or up to 400 if it wants the app.
What does TeamUp do that ManageYourGym doesn't?
An in-app store with gift cards and point of sale, automatic card and direct-debit renewals, waivers and forms, family accounts, on-demand video, two-way calendar sync and door access through Kisi. Our side-by-side comparison page lists every row, including the ones they win.
