The best class booking software is the one that sells what your studio actually sells: memberships, class packs that expire, and drop-ins, all booked by members in an app under your studio's name. For most studios that means a studio platform rather than a generic scheduler. ManageYourGym is the one we'd pick, and we built it, so weigh that. It publishes its price ($79, $169 or $349 a month), puts capacity limits, automatic waitlists, paid bookings and class packs on every plan, and includes the member app at no extra cost.
Below are ten platforms a studio really shortlists — Acuity, Arbox, Glofox, ManageYourGym, Mindbody, Momence, PushPress, TeamUp, Vagaro and WellnessLiving — grouped by type, with every price read from each vendor's own pricing page on 8 October 2026. The checks that separate a booking tool you'll keep from one you'll outgrow come first; one Dubai studio priced on all of them comes last.
What to check before you book a demo
Every vendor will tell you they do class booking. Ask for these nine things on the demo call, and ask to see each one on screen.
- Capacity and waitlist. Does a full class turn people away, or does it queue them and promote the next person automatically when a spot opens? Is the member told?
- Class packs that expire. Can you sell a 5- or 10-class pack, set how many days it stays valid, and let one credit book any class? Most generic schedulers sell a "package" but treat expiry as an afterthought. Our class pack pricing guide covers how to set the number.
- Memberships beside packs. A regular on an unlimited membership and a newcomer on a 10-pack should sit in the same system, on the same roster.
- Card at booking. Can a class be paid, with the spot held until the member pays, and the money going to your own account?
- The member app. Is it under your name and icon in the App Store and Google Play, or the vendor's name with your logo inside it? And what does it cost, as a tier jump or an add-on?
- No-shows and late cancels. Ask exactly what happens to a credit or a fee when a member cancels late. Get the rule, not "it's configurable".
- Recurring schedules. Set a class once, repeat it weekly, change one date without breaking the series.
- Instructors. A roster per class, and a way to pay instructors per class, per hour, or a share, without a spreadsheet.
- The price. Is it on the page, and what does it count: members, active customers, weekly sessions, staff, locations? The meter decides your bill as you grow.

Studio platforms
These are built around the class timetable, and they're where most studios end up. Alphabetical.
Glofox
Glofox (ABC Glofox since the 2022 acquisition) is aimed at boutique studios and sells a branded app. Its pricing page, read today, is a quote form: business type, number of locations and contact details, no plan names or figures. That makes it impossible to compare with anything here until you've had the sales call, so ask for the app, processing fees and contract term in writing. Our Glofox alternatives post goes through why owners leave.
ManageYourGym
Our own. Classes repeat on a recurring schedule with a capacity limit, a roster and an automatic waitlist. A class can be free or paid, and a paid booking holds the spot until the member pays by card, with the money settled to your own account through Stripe or Nomod. Class packs (5 or 10 classes) expire after the days you set, one credit books any class, and the credit comes back when a member cancels before the cutoff. Memberships, packs and PT packages live on the same member record.
The member app is published under your studio's name and icon on both stores and is included on every plan; you pay Apple $99 a year and Google $25 once for your own developer accounts. See how the branded app works. Instructors get their own app and can be paid per class, hourly, per session or a share of PT packages. Every plan is on the pricing page and you can cancel anytime.
Mindbody
The best-known name, and the one with a consumer marketplace: your classes appear in the Mindbody app. Starter starts at $99 per location with unlimited users; Accelerate (which adds Pick-a-Spot, promo codes and resource management) and Ultimate show no price. The branded app is an add-on with no published figure. Studios that live on marketplace discovery pick it for that reason. If you don't, compare it with the alternatives in our Mindbody comparison.
Momence
Popular with boutique and wellness businesses that run workshops and events alongside classes. The pricing page says every business is different and asks you to book a demo. No plans, no figures, nothing on the app. Treat it like Glofox: you can't price it until you've spoken to sales.
TeamUp
Class and appointment studios, billed by active customers: $189 a month for 101 to 200 of them, counting anyone who registered or bought in the previous month. It includes waivers, POS, gift cards and on-demand content, has unlimited locations, no setup fee and no contract. The branded app is $99 a month on top. The meter means your bill climbs as the studio does, which is fine if you expect to stay small.
WellnessLiving
Studios and spas, month-to-month. Starter ($69) covers one staff member, so any studio with more than one instructor lands on Business ($199, unlimited staff, rewards and marketing tools). A white-label app starts at BusinessPro, $349. Check the promotional offer on the page before comparing, because the regular price is what you pay from month three.
Gym and box platforms
Run a gym floor with classes on the side, or a box, and these are built for you. Class booking is a part of the product, not the whole of it.
Arbox
Priced by weekly sessions: Free covers 5, Basic ($49) covers 20, and Standard ($129) is unlimited. The branded app starts at Professional, $299, so a studio that wants its own-name app pays that. A 30-class week rules out the two cheaper tiers on its own. Annual billing takes about 20% off.
PushPress
The CrossFit and functional-fitness default. Free, Pro ($159) and Max ($229), with unlimited members, staff and leads on every plan, so growth doesn't move the bill. Card processing is 4.99% + $0.30 on Free, 2.89% + $0.30 on Pro and 2.75% + $0.30 on Max, which matters more than the subscription at volume. The branded app is $97 a month. There's an honest side-by-side if you're weighing it.
Generic schedulers
These book a time slot. Some now sell packages too. They're the right call for a solo instructor with eight regulars, and they're what the first page of search results is full of.
Acuity Scheduling
The strongest of the generic tools, and honest about what it is. Its pricing page lists Starter $20, Standard $34 and Premium $61, metered by calendars: class scheduling on all plans, and appointment packages, memberships, waitlists and SMS reminders from Standard ($34). What's missing is the studio around the booking: no member app under your name on the pricing page, and no instructor roster or pay.
Vagaro
A salon and spa platform that supports classes. From $30 a month per location ($23.99 for the first six months), plus $10 for each bookable calendar licence up to seven. It lists a branded app and website as a feature but doesn't print what the app costs, so get that figure in writing.
What does one studio pay on each?
Take a 180-member boutique studio in Dubai running 30 classes a week, selling memberships and 10-class packs, and wanting its own app. Here's the monthly bill on each published price.
| Platform | Monthly, with an own-name app | How we got there |
|---|---|---|
| ManageYourGym | $169 | Professional covers 500 members; apps included |
| PushPress | $256 | Pro $159 plus the $97 app |
| TeamUp | $288 | $189 for 101 to 200 active customers plus the $99 app |
| Arbox | $299 | Professional is the tier with the branded app |
| WellnessLiving | $349 | BusinessPro is the tier with the white-label app |
| Mindbody | From $99 plus the app | Starter per location; app price not published |
| Acuity, Vagaro | $34 / $40 | Booking only. No own-name app on the Acuity page; Vagaro app price not shown |
| Glofox, Momence | Quote | No published price |
Monthly billing, USD, read from each vendor's pricing page on 8 October 2026. Acuity is Standard, the first plan with packages, memberships and waitlists. Vagaro is the $30 base plus $10 for a second calendar. A 180-member studio is over our Starter cap of 150 members, so Professional is the fair comparison; below 150 members it's $79. Card processing is extra everywhere.
Generic scheduler or studio software?
A generic scheduler books a slot. It doesn't know that a member has two credits left on a pack that expires on the 14th, that her unlimited membership covers this class but not that one, or that the instructor is paid per head. You end up bolting a payment tool, a spreadsheet for packs and a messaging app onto the calendar, and your members still book through a web link, not an app with your name on it.
That works at ten regulars. It stops working when you add a second instructor, a waitlist that matters, or a member who asks where the app is. The fix isn't a bigger scheduler, it's a platform where the membership, the pack and the booking are one record. That's what the boutique studio, Pilates and yoga setups are built on, and it's why we'd put ManageYourGym ahead of the others for a studio that sells more than one thing.
Which one should you pick?
If you sell memberships and class packs, want your own app without paying for it twice, and want a price you can read, ManageYourGym is the strongest overall: every feature and every app on every plan. If you live on marketplace discovery, Mindbody is the one built for it. If you run a CrossFit box, PushPress. If it's just you and a calendar, Acuity is enough. Book two demos, and have both vendors show you a pack expiring and a late cancel.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best class booking software for a fitness studio?
For a studio that sells memberships and expiring class packs, a studio platform beats a generic scheduler. ManageYourGym includes capacity limits, automatic waitlists, paid bookings, class packs and an own-name member app on every plan, from $79 a month. Mindbody suits studios that want marketplace listing; PushPress suits CrossFit boxes.
How much does class booking software cost?
Read from vendors' own pricing pages on 8 October 2026: generic schedulers run $20 to $61 a month (Acuity); studio platforms run roughly $69 to $349 a month (ManageYourGym $79 to $349, Arbox $0 to $299, PushPress $0 to $229, WellnessLiving $69 to $349). Glofox and Momence publish no price. A branded app is an extra $97 to $99 a month on PushPress and TeamUp.
Do I need a member app for class booking?
Not on day one, but members book more when the app is on their phone with your name on it. Check whether it's under your studio's name on the App Store and Google Play, and whether it costs extra. On ManageYourGym it's included on every plan; see the member app.
Can class booking software handle class packs that expire?
Studio platforms do; generic schedulers vary. Ask to see a pack expire and a credit return on a cancel. ManageYourGym sells 5 and 10-class packs that expire after the days you set, and a credit goes back when a member cancels before the cutoff.
Is a generic booking tool like Acuity enough for a studio?
For a solo instructor with a small regular group, yes. Acuity supports classes from $20 a month, and packages and memberships from $34. Once you have several instructors, waitlists that matter, paid packs and an own-name app, you'll want studio software.
If you've got a shortlist, send us your timetable and your pack prices and we'll set up your classes live on a call, so you can see a full class, a waitlist and a pack expiring on your own numbers before you decide.
